Employment Equity

South Africa is one of the most progressive countries in the world when contextualising culture, race and economics in the production of diversity. In order to ensure equal opportunity and fair treatment in the workplace, the Employment Equity Act (No. 55 of 1998) was enacted to law. This act directly mitigates any form of discrimination from employers. A designated employer (i.e.: an employer with 50 or more staff members) is required to submit Employment Equity reports to the Department of Labour annually.
